Custom Work Process

The custom process starts when you put your faith in the jeweler to bring to life the idea that first came to you.

After an initial consultation to discuss ideas and styles for a piece, the artist takes the information from the initial meeting and creates some renderings of design options.  Once on paper, it is easier to imagine different styles and shapes that will eventually materialize into the finished design.  A second consultation is when these renderings are reviewed by the client and the artist, at which point one of the designs is chosen. The first consultation is to discuss the vision that you have for that special piece.  Whether you are looking to have a ring made to propose to that special lady, or a whimsical piece that is reminiscent of a tree house you used to play in as a child.  Each custom creation is a unique expression of the individual it is created for.

The final consultation involves a finished, fully to scale rendering of the actual piece to be created.  Once this final design is approved by the customer, a custom agreement is signed and 30% of the total design price is deposited.  For more complex designs, a $200 nonrefundable design fee may be asked.  This charge is only applied when there are complicated design options, such as a wax model, made for casting.

A completion date is set, usually between 2-6 weeks from the date of deposit, and the balance is due upon delivery.  The working times vary by piece, handcrafting takes time, and quality will not be sacrificed for speed.
